Did you know that those who know and love us call us KW2 (KW squared)? We are known as KW2 because we have the same initials - Krisstina Wise and Kelly White - both KW’s. I always wondered about this since we are the least “square” people I know. I think a more appropriate description would be double trouble but somehow KW2 has stuck. I have always found it not only endearing but the perfect description for two individual who have a shared vision and passion for living a good life. And our friendship has lasted for more than a decade because of this philosophy.
It all started one day when I met the powerhouse of a woman I know as Krisstina Wise (KW1) in a hot tub. We love to tell the story of how we met because meeting in a hot tub sounds so exotic. Actually, it wasn’t as exotic as it sounds but it was a steamy hot day on Amelia Island in Florida. Oh, and we were at a Family Reunion - the Keller Williams Family Reunion. We somehow ended up in the hot tub with tired feet and a need for relaxation. We started talking and realized that we had met the previous year at the Los Angeles Family Reunion. I had just moved to Austin and Krisstina already lived in Austin. Our friendship started that day and she has my boxer shorts to prove it! (If you know Krisstina you have to ask her about her boxer short stories)
We returned to Austin, put on our running shoes, built an amazing friendship and shared our passion for living a good life with many philosophical miles on the running trail. At the time, we were in our early 30’s and filled with passion for our careers, our lives and the real estate industry (and in our 40’s this continues). Krisstina had already built a successful Austin real estate practice and was building a Keller Williams “7th level” team. I was helping Gary Keller build Keller Williams University. As time progressed, we talked repeatedly about going into business together and formulated one idea after another trying to figure out a way we could do it.
Even though we weren’t working together, we had many “firsts” together as friends. We trained and finished our first marathon together, we trained and rode our first 100 mile bike ride together and then we trained and traveled to Spain, our first trip to Europe, to cycle the Spanish Alps together for 7 days.
We ran hard, rode hard, laughed hard, worked hard, and cried hard and most of all lived lives full of passion for the good life. We talked often, and long, about living a good life and what that meant to us. We knew that living a good life was what we wanted and we eventually wanted to work together to produce that good life. One of the bedrocks of our friendship has always been a shared vision for creating a good life and helping others create a good life. And for a decade we have talked, strategized and fantasized about working together.
And now is the time. I don’t know why it seems so obvious to me now but it is clear to me in a way that it never has been before. Maybe Krisstina is more of a risk taker than I am or maybe I was worried about screwing up our friendship. One day recently, it just became crystal clear to me. Why in the world would I work with people who truly don’t care about me or my future when I can work for the person I trust the most? And that was it.
With over 10 years of real estate knowledge in my ‘back pocket’ and a determination to begin my new career , I signed up for my real estate classes by correspondence, took 5 real estate classes in 4 days, took a weekend cram course, took my licensing test the following week and was licensed in less than 3 weeks!!! I finally get it! After all these years, numerous running miles and lots of time strategizing about what we could to do to work together the answer was right in front of me. After all, the answer was so simple but as many things in life are, it is all about timing. The time is now. I am a licensed Austin real estate agent and a full-fledged member of the GoodLife Team. And I am jumping for joy!!
Many of you don’t know this but there is one secret I can share with you about Krisstina. She has a very big vision about the future of real estate and I am passionate about helping her fulfill that vision. I know that we can accomplish more together than we can alone. The ultimate for me is having a rewarding career and doing it with people I love! Now that is what I call a good life. And that is why I joined the GoodLife Team.

Congratulations, Kelly!
If I had a way to get there to celebrate with you, I would. As you know, certain circumstances make it a little bit difficult for me to travel right now.
If anyone deserves a good life and knows how to encourage others toward finding the best in themselves and their relationships it is you. From what I can tell about your business it is all about guiding others to the lives they want to lead.
It sounds very exciting and I am very happy for you. I agree that timing is crucial and although popular culture brainwashed our generation into believing the path of least resistance is the easy way out, it does make sense to spend the precious hours of life with those you love and respect. Krisstina must be jumping for joy to have you on her team. The dedication, perseverance, creativity, integrity and compassion you apply to every aspect of your life will serve you and the business very well. I know because you have been one of my best and truest friends for about 25 years now.
Thanks for caring for me and for sharing the good news.
Love, Punch
